On the second part of this episode we will be speaking with Robbie Davis-Floyd, PhD, about standardized pathology vs. normalized uniqueness as well as the benefits of midwives attending births.

Robbie Davis Floyd is a senior research fellow with the department of Anthropology at the University of Texas Austin, and is a fellow for the Society of Applied Anthropology. She is a well-known cultural-medical anthropologist, international speaker, and researcher in transformational models in childbirth, midwifery, and obstetrics. She is the author of over 80 articles, and of the book "Birth as an American Right of Passage," and of the new anthology of her most popular works all revised and updated for publication in "Ways of Knowing About Birth: Mothers, Midwives, Medicine, and Birth Activism."
